Camp FAQs
How is Pathfinder Day Camp unique?
Pathfinder Day Camp is a ministry of Lyman Methodist Church. Our goal is to provide an excellent camp experience in a Christian environment. Every day your child will engage with a classic Bible story, participate in camp songs and worship, and grow in their faith.
What kinds of activities will be at camp?
We believe that kids should enjoy an active summer. Our name, Pathfinder, reflects both the daily exploration we hope to instill in campers and the larger goal of walking the path for Jesus. During Pathfinder Day Camp, campers will have the chance to participate in various sports, play outdoor large group games (capture the flag, anyone?), be creative outdoors (fort building!), make crafts, learn camp cheers, participate in skits, have water days, and enjoy playground time. These are just a few of the fun camp activities awaiting your child.
What do campers get with registration?
Every camper will receive an age-level Bible, a camp swag item, and a great summer camp experience!
What are lunch options?
A hot meal is included in the tuition free for every camper. This year we are switching to providing meals in-house from our DHEC approved kitchen. Meal options will include family classics such as spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, tacos, grilled cheese, etc. The cost of lunch is incorporated into the weekly cost of camp. Campers may bring their own lunch, but there are no rebate or refund options for camp lunches not eaten.
If my child brings their lunch, are there any guidelines?
Lunches brought from home should include all items needed for your child’s meal, including eating utensils, a drink, etc. We will not be able to provide refrigeration or microwaving for lunches brought from home. Sodas are not permitted.
Will there be a snack?
Yes! Camp registration includes a daily snack every morning and afternoon.
What should campers bring?
Their own backpack with a set of clothing. Please have your campers wear play clothes that can get dirty and closed-toe shoes. Crocs and sandals are prohibited.
Enrichment Activities
We are currently planning to offer several special guests and programs to visit camp for summer 2024. (Think visits from the local fire department, building model rockets, etc.) Enrichment activities and schedules will be announced at the parent orientation.
Parent Orientation
We strongly encourage all parents and/or guardians to attend our Parent Orientation prior to the start of camp. We’ll offer an in-depth look at what your child can expect at camp this summer, including how to manage registration and payment through ProCare, weekly activities, lunch options, and an overview of what your child will be learning at camp. Campers will have an opportunity to meet their counselors. Childcare will be provided.
Registration:
2024 Camp tuition includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee per camper. We have a limited number of slots available and registration guarantees your child a place at camp.
Camp Tuition:
The weekly tuition rate for our camp program is $135 per child. The weekly tuition rate includes daily lunch, daily snack, and all camp programing. Multi-child rates apply to multiple children attending per household. Note: there are no discounted tuition options for less than a full week’s attendance.
*Fourth of July Week
We will have an abbreviated week in honor of Independence Day. Camp will only be open July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd of that week, and closed July 4th and 5th. This will be the only week a pro-rated camp program is offered. The tuition cost for this week will be $80.
Multi-Child Rates:
If you have multiple children in your household participating in camp, then there is a $20 discount applied to each additional child. Discounts are taken during registration and apply to the weekly tuition rate. The first child will pay the standard rate. Each additional child will be discounted $20.
Registration Info:
During registration, parents and guardians can indicate the weeks their child will be attending camp. During the summer, parents and/or guardians will be asked to confirm the next week’s attendance each Wednesday.
Payment:
Registration and weekly payment will be made through ProCare, our registration portal. Weekly tuition must be paid prior to dropping your child off on Monday morning each week. Payment may only be made through the ProCare app. Cash and checks are not accepted.
