In 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lyman Methodist Church recognized the need to adapt and find new ways to serve its congregation and the wider community. With in-person gatherings limited, the church swiftly moved to create an online campus, allowing members and visitors to participate in worship from the safety of their homes. This transition to digital ministry not only ensured that the church remained connected during a time of physical distancing but also opened doors to reach individuals who might not have otherwise engaged with the church.
The online campus became a vital lifeline for many, providing spiritual nourishment and community connection in uncertain times. Services were streamed live, offering a seamless worship experience that included music, prayer, and sermons. The digital format also allowed for interactive elements, such as live chat, prayer requests, and virtual fellowship, creating a sense of unity and shared experience despite the physical separation.
As the world began to reopen, the online campus continued to thrive, evolving into a permanent and integral part of Lyman Methodist Church’s ministry. It now serves as a bridge for those who are unable to attend in person, whether due to health reasons, travel, or other commitments, ensuring that everyone can participate in the life of the church. The online campus has extended the church’s reach far beyond its physical location, embodying the mission to share the love of Jesus with all, no matter where they are.
